We Are Now DakotaCare Providers!

DakotaCare contracts arrived in the mail for the three of us LPC-MH's who work at Professional Counseling Associates today! We have been looking forward to receiving these since we were informed in October that LPC-MH's and LCSW's (Licensed Clinical Social Workers) were approved for inclusion as providers by the DakotaCare Board of Directors. Credentialing was completed by January 1 for those who sent in the required documents. We look forward to serving DakotaCare clients and plan to put an ad in the paper letting the public know that we are now approved providers.
To all the counselors that met during the conference in Sioux Falls last spring, I want you to know that I believe the organized effort paid off. An opportunity arose to discuss some of our group plans with a DakotaCare agent as well as relating the problems that have been caused for clients who were not able to access services. Very shortly following this conversation, an e-mail was received stating that we would be included as providers. Thanks to Debra Kelly for initiating the meeting at conference and for all who shared ideas and agreed to work on assignments to achieve the goal of LPC-MH's becoming providers.
