ANNUAL AUCTION TO BENEFIT GRADUATE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP FUND

SDCA will once again host its annual live and silent auction in conjunction with the Friday evening conference banquet. However, a new twist will be added for this year in hopes of allowing more individuals to participate.

Several larger items will once again be used in the live auction and bidding on those items will be as in the past. The change for this year will come on those items displayed in the Silent Auction.

Those attending the banquet will have the opportunity to buy numbered tickets at a relatively low price (i.e. $1 per ticket with an incentive to buy large number at an even lower price). You can then put those tickets in the bowl by any of the displayed items. One ticket will be drawn for each item and the owner of that numbered ticket will take home that item. With this scenario, you might be lucky enough to walk off with an item for $1. However, if the item is something you want to increase your chances to win, you may choose to put a larger number of the $1 tickets into the bowl by that prize.

Central Chapter and President Marcia Price agreed to try this format to see if more people were able to participate in the event. Come prepared to participate in both the silent raffle and the live auction of items.

Proceeds go to the SDCA Graduate Student Scholarship Fund. Members who have items to donate are encouraged to do so. Let Kelly Duncan know in advance so that your donation can be listed in the conference program.
