Minding Your Own Business
The time has come! SDMHCA is very pleased to be hosting "Minding Your Own Business" workshop presented by Susan Hoppenworth on June 1st from 8:00-1:00 at USDSU Center Room 188 2205 Career Ave Sioux Falls, SD. This is a great opportunity to explore the possibilities of developing your own private practice. Please come and join us for this very informative program! LPC/LPC-MH Practice Law
The LPC/LPC-MH Practice Law will go into affect July, 1 2007. Here is a copy of the new statute. The practice of professional counseling is defined in the statute and those engaging in the practice without a license may now be subject to a Class 2 misdemeanor.

The end of the school year is near! We would like to highlight a few things from the past month.
SDICA Healing of Healers Retreat/Conference
The Healing of Healers Retreat was held in Chamberlain, SD at Cedar Shores Resort. The retreat started off with an Inipi Ceremony at Crow Creek High School in Stephan, SD. The ceremony was attended by members of the retreat and staff and students at CCHS. It was a beautiful evening and a meaningful ceremony. Click on the link to read more!
Central Chapter Year in Review
The year began fast paced, with enthusiasm and excitement counselors renewed old friendships and embarked on a new path with new members. The big accomplishment of the Central Chapter would have to be the successful turnout for the book drive, accumulating 5,750 books! Click on the link to read more!
