There is a season
For every counselor
A season for themselves.
This is your season. As nature's season changes from summer to fall we notice the changing colors of the world in the leaves, grass and fields that surround us. (Especially where I work) As we move through the fall time of the year you will notice changes within yourself, your staff, your clients, and your strength that has made you who you are. Change is good. Be able to recognize it and enjoy it as growth. For every professional counselor there is a season with a determination to do his or her best.
I feel that the health and vitality of organization requires continuity of leadership and a collective vision of what should come next. It is everyone's responsibility to encourage our colleagues to come forward for the good of the profession and the organization. Run for an office of SDCA. Here is you chance to grow within in yourself. What a great opportunity to meet people who are in the different areas of counseling. Being an officer of SDCA is a great growing time for a person. The broad scope of where and how counselors serve their communities is not only interesting, but also actually quite amazing. It seems that counseling professions are often the silent partners in a variety of situations, and yet the service you provide is invaluable.
