    Public Relations Tips

The last installment of Public Relations Tips gave you questions to consider when laying the basic groundwork to do a successful interview or article. Here are a few more important items.

    Defining Your Agenda

    *Message Points:

-Have a few concise thoughts, ideas, arguments and impression.
-Determined by the specific goal(s) of the interview.
-Determined by the specific target audience

    Questions and Controversy

*You must think like a lawyer. No prosecutor would simply stand up, point at the defendant and say, "He's guilty. I rest my case." The prosecutor would bring in various types of proof-motive, witnesses, fingerprints, ect.-to back up the assertion.

*Anticipate questions and controversy - "If you dread it, you'll get it"

    *Practice...Practice...Practice

The next installment of PR Tips will cover Key Interview Techniques: blocking, bridging and headlining.
