The 2006 CONFERENCE REGISTRATION form is now available. Members are encouraged to register by January 15, 2006 to take advantage of the early bird registration discount for current members. Two full-day preconference workshops will be held in addition to the SDCA Conference presentations. SDCA’s Spring Conference is always the highlight of the year! Why not share some of your expertise with your fellow professionals? Submissions for content session programs are being sought by the SDCA Education Committee for presentation at the Spring Conference to be held in Pierre April 20-22, 2006. Click on the CALL FOR PROGRAMS form and send your submission by the Oct. 15 deadline.
Licensed Professional Counselors---December 31, 2005 marks the deadline for renewal of your license. Are you still in need of the required 4 hours of continuing education in the area of Ethics? If so, SDCA has planned a workshop focusing on Ethics for November 18 in Mitchell. For more information and to register, click on PUTTING ETHICS TO WORK. A minimum of 20 participants is required for the workshop to be held.

Experienced counselors often find it challenging to meet the credentialing requirements in the new state due to of a number of factors, including difficulty locating counseling supervisors; deceased or seriously ill counseling supervisors; the closing of a former place of employment; etc. A newly available services promises to facilitate state-to-state mobility for state credentialed counselors.
