    The Retreat Conversation-Transforming Our Association

    SDCA President Mary Pat Mueller wants to let you know about one idea that members may be particularly interested in.

    Play Workshop - September 15 - Chamberlain

    The workshop will explore the benefits of play, useful supplies to have on hand, the crucial “C’s”, connecting skills, interactive and therapeutic play strategies, and bibliotherapy. Individual, small and large group techniques will be shared that you can begin to use immediately. Check here for registration details.

    How Should a Supervisor Work with Supervisee Resistance?

    Supervisee resistance may be a reaction to loss of control, fear of inadequacy, and resistance also may result from the supervisor failing to integrate multicultural information into the supervision sessions. Regardless of form, resistant behaviors are coping mechanisms intended to reduce anxiety. Click here for more information.

    I have been talking to other colleagues about what they might like to hear about, or what other counselors might find interesting. Conversations lead to the area of private practice vs. agency counseling practices. What I have come to realize is, wherever you are, the grass seems to be greener on the other side!
