Attention Counseling Graduate Students!
The South Dakota Counseling Association is again offering graduate students the opportunity to serve as SDCA Spring Conference moderators!
You may be wondering if you are new to SDCA, what is a conference moderator? It is a student who attends sessions at the conference and hands out papers for the presenters and evaluations, introduces the presenter, and collects evaluations at the end of sessions. Graduate Students also help out at keynote sessions and meals by helping people find seats. Moderators do not work every event or session, so you still have time for yourself. Sounds easy, right?
In order to be a moderator, you need to:
1. Be a current member of SDCA. Membership fee for students is $20.00 The conference fee for moderators is reduced from the regular student registration fee of $100.00 to only $50.00.
2. Complete the attached moderator application form and email or mail it to me at cflum@usd.edu to sign up to be a moderator. Each university program (NSU, SDSU, and USD are allotted 7 slots). Deadline for signing up to volunteer is February 1, 2008. After February 1, slots not filled by program will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The benefits of being a moderator are numerous including getting to meet others in your profession and the chance to have an excellent volunteer position to list on your resume---all while enjoying the SDCA Conference!
Hope to hear from you soon!
