Description: We often confuse sex, sexuality, sexual preference, gender, gender identity, gender expression, and gender norms in our discourse with each other and with our clients. It is essential for counselors to understand these terms. We also need to be able to distinguish gender dysphoria (DSM-5)/gender incongruence (ICD-11) myths and misconceptions from facts. This presentation will provide an introduction to gender health and the basics of counseling transgender, gender diverse, and intersex persons.
